The Living Room Lookout Trail is a 2.3 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Salt Lake City, Utah that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until November. Dogs are also able to use this trail. The hike was easy to start on the bottom and there are several different route (but all route leads to the main route, I suppose). It does get steep here and there but isn't that what makes it a good hiking challenge. The hike is popular for it's rock looking like living room furniture hence the name of the trail, lol. This 1.25-mile hike up Red Butte Ridge ascends 980 feet and takes hikers to a vantage point known to locals as the Living Room that features slabs of sandstone arranged as furniture. One of the better short hikes to a prominent viewpoint above the Salt Lake Valley, it’s easy to see why this route is popular most of the year.
